In today’s digital age, it’s easy to get caught up in the allure of social media platforms and the never-ending stream of digital distractions. Here are some lessons and caveats by Andrew Cake we can learn from.

What we are focusing on is WRONG, here’s how you re-utilise your attention.

a. The Pitfalls of Excessive Social Media Usage

One of the main issues with excessive social media usage is the tendency to scroll through feeds without any specific purpose or intention. This can lead to a significant amount of time wasted on trivial and unproductive activities. Instead of actively pursuing personal goals or engaging in activities that contribute to personal growth, we find ourselves getting lost in the virtual world of social media.

Comparing ourselves to others is another trap that social media often leads us into. Seeing carefully curated posts and highlight reels of other people’s lives can create feelings of inadequacy and a sense of missing out. This constant comparison can erode our self-esteem and hinder our ability to focus on our own personal journey.
