Ressentiment: People in power are always evil

Have you ever wondered why the Chinese government, American government, Russian government, all governments are seen as “evil”?

There are numerous books and articles about how the government never acts in residents’ best interests.

The whole anti-mask, anti-vaccine movement is a clear representation of the idea that “people in power are always evil”.

I don’t agree or disagree with those movements as absolute truths don’t exist in my mind and I just see those movements as a part of life, nothing more, nothing less. Very nihilistic I know.

However, I do see those movements to be sparked by social unrest and distrust towards the government.

Have you ever wondered why the government is always doing what is wrong?

Because the ones defining the “right and wrong” of the government are the people. The people could not get what they want from the government and have no ability in changing this fact.
