Reading, reading is a mere illusion of knowledge.

You know what is slavery, but you will never understand what is slavery,

I’ll explain why books don’t help you understand things supported by philosophers with the likes of Rene Descartes and Arthur Schopenhauer.

Reading is the process of absorbing information from past experiences of people. However, you have not experienced what the author has experienced, so you will never be able to understand it. Just like the idea of love, you have heard about the word “love”, but you will never understand “love” until you actually experience it.

The doctrine of reading is preposterous, it fabricates the idea that there is a secret portal to go through and you’ll understand the lives of different people like Hitler and Stalin. Well….. you can’t.

Rene Descartes coined the term “rationalism”, where most, if not all, knowledge can be gained through reasoning. You can gain knowledge through thinking and not through past experiences.
