It’s such a cliché, yet everyone knows this. Everyone goes through ordeals, but most people choose to blame the ordeals. My ex-girlfriend broke up with me because I didn’t allow a certain guy friend, who had admitted he was interested in her, to keep on being friends with her. Fast forward a week later, they started dating. I mourned, I cried, but I didn’t suffer much.

Society will tell you being cheated on is a bad thing, being lied to is okay to cry about. But pain and certain situations are only sufferable because you give power to them. Just like how this lighter is only a lighter from the human perspective: we click it, we can light up a candle. From an ant’s perspective, it’s merely a huge mountain, a huge obstacle to cross. It’s that object in and of itself.
