Friends are useless, here’s why
Do you remember your kindergarten friends? Name 3 friends from high school.
Ok cool, name 3 remarkable memories with those 3 friends. What I thought.
It’s likely that you can recall them, because you have had good friends. Now tell me 3 more friends, and 3 more after that.
How can I recall that many?
Really? You have lived over for over 2 decades and you don’t have 9 friends?
Who are your friends?
“Timmy, I am bored, play COD with me”
“Yeah, sure. Hop onto the discord chat, I’ll get David to join”
“Amazing, 3 friends game, ought to be splendid!!”
Those aren’t friends, those are a “double coincidence of wants”. You needed a pal to play with, they needed a pal to play with, three of you signed an intangible agreement of lonesome killing.
Two years later when you three part ways – different classes, different schools – you three say bye bye and “friends” no more.
You have had more than 30 “friends” in life, but you can merely recall the first 3 in the beginning of the article.
Most friends are just a convenience, a ride, a taxi driver that happens to be right next to you. They’re useless.
