embrace the DARK, dark breeds greatness
I actually understand why people want to shield the youth from darkness nowadays. They think that humans are fragile and can’t take darkness, that’s why there are so many white lies amongst the population.
I actually don’t mind shielding if humans are not going to encounter that darkness naturally, like the atrocities of wars, I don’t need to know the degree of agony and mental liabilities from wars, because it is not likely (touch wood) that there will be a military war breaking out that will ripple to me.
However, claiming the world is all sunshine and rainbow and purposely neglecting the fact that there will be financial struggles in most people’s adulthood is an example of avoidance of darkness.
I think that only when you go through war with a purple heart will you actually be able to be great. Painter Francis Bacon was domestically abused and abandoned which left unperishable marks of traumas making him one of the greatest modern painters alongside Picasso.
I’m sorry, but ain’t no way a man can create great monumental artworks like this without going through mental darkness, severe ones.
A more relatable example would be Logan “the maverick” Paul. Forrest, to boxing, to Prime Hydration brand.
